Indices closed out mixed on Monday. The Dow and Nasdaq ended the session fractionally lower while the S&P 500 added marginal gains. Trading was fairly flat amid a variety of economic news. Google parent Alphabet reported quarterly details. First quarter revenue ticked up 26%, year-over-year, to $27.76 billion. Earnings per share hit $9.93. Results exceeded expectations of $24.26 billion in revenue and EPS of $9.28. Other companies including Woodward Inc, T-Mobile, and Halliburton reported quarterly results as well. On another note, crude oil ramped up to a four-year high. West Texas Intermediate crude futures settled at $68.64 a barrel today.
