Indices closed with gains on Friday. The Dow added 330 points in a late afternoon rally as brands rebounded from early lows. In earnings moves, Nvidia gained 6% today after the chipmaker posted stronger-than-forecasted fourth-quarter earnings and revenue. Profit hit $1.72 a share, exceeding estimates of $1.17. Revenue of $2.91 billion bettered expectations of $2.68 billion. The company anticipates revenue in its fiscal first quarter of $2.84 billion to $2.96 billion, versus consensus of $2.46 billion. On another note, energy brands sold off amid a dip in crude oil prices. For the session, West Texas Intermediate crude shed 3.7% to settle at $58.87 a barrel. Looking ahead, earnings reports are due next week from companies such as Coca-Cola, Shake Shack and Cisco.
