Managing Associate Shawna Theriault, C.P.A., CFP®, CDFA®, and Chief Investment Officer Troy Harmon, CFA, CVA, interview Lee Smith, Vice President of Operations for The Center for Family Resources, a Cobb County-based organization that works exclusively to serve local families and individuals that are either homeless or in danger of becoming homeless. They discuss how The CFR helps people move to self-sufficiency through financial stabilization, housing, and education.
They also focus on The CFR’s annual Thanks for Giving food drive, now in its 33rd year. The Thanks for Giving drive helps provide food for financially stressed families when students are home from school. The CFR strives to provide more than just the holiday meal. Through generous donations from the community, The CFR provides all the ingredients necessary for a family to make their own Thanksgiving meal at home, in a way that supports and honors their own family traditions, capturing the true spirit of Thanksgiving.
