Tuesday’s session closed out mixed. The Dow and S&P 500 shed some points, while the Nasdaq added fractional gains. Action was mixed on word of an impasse between Greece and private investors in debt talks, which brought on default concerns.
Thursday’s session ended in the green zone. Brands climbed amid mixed quarterly data and declining jobless claims. Bank of America earned $2 billion, or 15 cents a share, in the fourth quarter. The result was in line with expectations. Meanwhile, Morgan Stanley reported a fourth-quarter loss of 14 cents a share.
