Indices closed in green territory on Monday. Companies including Apple, 3M and Coca-Cola led advancers on the Dow. Apple jumped 3.5% on a ratings boost from Bank of America Merrill Lynch. In M&A moves, Nvidia will acquire Israel’s Mellanox Technologies in a $7 billion deal. On another note, U.S. retail sales rose in January. Census Bureau data showed sales were up 0.2% from December’s level. Discounting cars, retail sales increased 0.9%, versus expectations of a 0.2% uptick.
