Gene W. Henssler, Ph.D.- President

Gene W. Henssler, Ph.D., is the President of Henssler Financial. The firm was founded by Dr. Henssler in March 1987 at the urging of friends and acquaintances who sought his counsel and advice for investing their money.

In 1998, Dr. Henssler started Henssler Asset Management, LLC to serve as the investment adviser for The Henssler Equity Fund (HEQFX) that was introduced to the market place that same year. The Henssler Equity Fund’s investment style is substantially similar to the investment style utilized for individual clients who invest in smaller company stocks. Dr. Henssler serves on The Fund’s investment committee, which is supported by a group of research analysts and other members of the adviser’s investment staff.

After earning both his Master of Business Administration and doctorate in finance at the University of Michigan, Dr. Henssler taught at Georgia State University, University of Toledo and Grand Valley State University in Michigan. In 1986 he became a Professor of Finance at Kennesaw State University, taking an early retirement in 1996. Dr. Henssler holds the title of Professor Emeritus of Finance at Kennesaw State University.

Dr. Henssler was recognized by Barron’s Magazine “Top 100 Financial Advisors” at No. 65 in the April 15, 2013 issue. The ranking, as identified by Barron’s, reflects the volume of assets overseen by the adviser and his team, revenues generated for the firm, and the quality of practice. Dr. Henssler was named to the 2017 Atlanta Five Star Wealth Managers list that was published in the October 2017 issue of Atlanta magazine. The Five Star award goes to wealth managers who satisfy 10 objective eligibility and evaluation criteria that are associated with wealth managers who provide quality services to their clients.

As a renowned professor in finance, Dr. Henssler was tapped by Atlanta talk radio to host “Money Talks,” an investment advice radio show. The show has aired for more than 30 years with a large following. Dr. Henssler has appeared on the network affiliate TV stations in Atlanta, Georgia Public Television, as well as nationally on CNN, CNBC, Bloomberg Television and Fox News.

A former columnist for the Atlanta Business Chronicle, Dr. Henssler has written numerous articles for newspapers, magazines and professional journals dealing with a wide variety of financial topics. Dr. Henssler is a registered representative of ALPS Distributors, Inc.

Roger C. Tutterow, Ph.D. - Chief Economic Adviser

Roger Tutterow, Ph.D., serves as Chief Economic Advisor for Henssler Financial. He is also a Professor of Economics at Kennesaw State University and serves as Director of the Econometric Center, an applied research center housed in Kennesaw’s Coles College of Business.

Dr. Tutterow’s analysis of the economic, business and political environments have been featured in a variety of media, including Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, USA Today, Atlanta Journal Constitution, Arizona Republic, Florida Times-Union, Kansas City Star, Los Angeles Times, New York Times, Orlando Sentinel, Palm Beach Post, Wichita Eagle and on CNN, CNBC, NBC, Bloomberg Television, NPR’s “Marketplace” and “All Things Considered,” CNN-Radio, as well as by regional electronic and print media.

In addition to his work in academia, Dr. Tutterow has served as a consultant on financial economics and statistical modeling for corporate clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to closely held businesses. He has provided expert testimony on economic, financial and statistical matters in state and federal court, before the Georgia General Assembly and before the Georgia Public Service Commission. Dr. Tutterow has given several hundred speeches to professional groups in more than 30 states and Canada on topics in the economic, business and political arenas.

For the last four years, Dr. Tutterow was selected by Georgia Trend magazine as a “notable Georgian.” In 2003, Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue appointed Dr. Tutterow to serve on the Governor’s Council of Economic Advisors, a capacity that he continues to serve in for current Georgia Governor Nathan Deal. In 2010, he was named to the Special Council on Tax Reform and Fairness for Georgians, which conducted a comprehensive review of Georgia’s Tax Code. Additionally, he has served on the Georgia Child Support Commission, on the Board of Trustees of Berry College, the Board of Directors of Vinings Bank, the Southern Region Board of Directors for the American Red Cross Blood Services and the Board of Directors for Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Atlanta.

A Georgia native, Dr. Tutterow holds a Bachelor of Science in Decision Science from Berry College and a Master of Arts and doctorate in Economics from Georgia State University. Prior to rejoining Kennesaw State University, Dr. Tutterow held faculty and administrative appointments at West Virginia University, Georgia State University and Mercer University. He has also served as a visiting professor at the University of the West Indies in Trinidad and at the Institute for Industrial Policy Studies in Seoul, South Korea.

Troy Harmon, CFA, CVA - Chief Investment Officer

Troy Harmon joined Henssler Financial in May 2006. Henssler Financial. In his role as Chief Investment Officer, Mr. Harmon is responsible for the overall investment process and driving the asset allocation process on a firm-wide level. Mr. Harmon is part of the Henssler Portfolio Committee that oversees all Henssler Model Portfolios, including the Henssler Large Cap Domestic and Henssler Income Portfolios. He also serves as one of the Portfolio Managers for the Henssler Small & Mid Cap portfolio. Mr. Harmon is a member of The Henssler Equity Fund’s investment committee, which is supported by a group of research analysts and other members of Henssler Asset Management, LLC’s investment staff.

Mr. Harmon co-hosts “Money Talks,” the firm’s financial talk-radio show, and has provided expert opinions in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution on equity holdings.

As a Certified Valuation Analyst accredited through the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, Mr. Harmon is particularly qualified to provide business valuation services. Between his extensive training and his experience in corporate and stock financial analysis, Mr. Harmon has a background for dealing with the complexities involved in providing valuation services.

Mr. Harmon has a Bachelor of Business Administration summa cum laude in Finance and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Kennesaw State University. He is a CFA charterholder, and holds the Certified Valuation Analyst designation. He also holds the Series 7 and Series 66 registrations. Nick Antonucci, CVA, CEPA - Research Analyst

Nick Antonucci, CVA, CEPA, joined the firm in November 2009.  As a Research Analyst, Mr. Antonucci is part of the Henssler Portfolio Committee that oversees the Henssler Traditional Model portfolio as well as the Henssler Income portfolios.

Mr. Antonucci also assists with the purchase and sale of client fixed-income securities. He analyzes market rates and various fixed-income securities, and assists with reviewing fixed-income holdings. Additionally, Mr. Antonucci contributes to “Money Talks,” the firm’s financial talk radio show.

As a Certified Valuation Analyst accredited through the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, Mr. Antonucci is particularly qualified to provide business valuation services. Between his extensive training and his experience in corporate and stock financial analysis, Mr. Antonucci has a background for dealing with the complexities involved in providing valuation services.

Mr. Antonucci has also earned the Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA) designation after completing the Exit Planning Institute’s intensive program. He joins an elite group of business advisers who are trained in aiding clients grow, preserve, and transfer business wealth by helping owners and their families successfully plan and execute ownership transition.

Mr. Antonucci earned a Bachelor of Business Administration, with a major in Finance, and his Master of Business Administration from Kennesaw State University. He is Bloomberg certified and a Certified Valuation Analyst.

Jacob Keen - Research Analyst

Jacob Keen joined Henssler Financial as a Research Analyst in August 2016. Henssler Financial, which includes federally registered investment advisers G.W. Henssler & Associates, Ltd. and Henssler Asset Management, LLC, is headquartered in Kennesaw, Ga., a suburb of Atlanta, with an additional office in the Atlanta Perimeter area.

As a Research Analyst, Mr. Keen is part of the Henssler Portfolio Committee that oversees the Henssler Traditional Model portfolio as well as the Henssler Income portfolios. Mr. Keen provides the firm with company-specific analysis, asset allocation and macro-economic analysis, and assists with portfolio construction and implementation. Additionally, Mr. Keen contributes to “Money Talks,” the firm’s financial talk radio show.

Prior to joining Henssler, Mr. Keen worked as a Research Analyst for Capital Management Advisors for two and a half years. Mr. Keen earned a Bachelor of Business Administration, with a major in Finance, from Kennesaw State University. He is Bloomberg certified.
