Gene W. Henssler, Ph.D.
President and Chief Investment Officer

Gene W. Henssler, Ph.D., is responsible for the overall direction of the firm, which offers financial advice and portfolio management to individual, corporate and institutional clients. Henssler Financial, which includes federally registered investment advisers G.W. Henssler & Associates, Ltd. and Henssler Asset Management, LLC, is headquartered in Kennesaw, Ga., a suburb of Atlanta, with an additional office in Atlanta Perimeter area. The firm was founded by Dr. Henssler in March 1987 at the urging of friends and acquaintances who sought his counsel and advice for investing their money.

After earning both his Master of Business Administration and doctorate in finance at the University of Michigan, Dr. Henssler taught at Georgia State University, University of Toledo and Grand Valley State University in Michigan. In 1986 he became a Professor of Finance at Kennesaw State University, taking an early retirement in 1996. Dr. Henssler holds the title of Professor Emeritus of Finance at Kennesaw State University.

Dr. Henssler was named on the 2012 Atlanta Five Star Wealth Managers list in the October issue of Atlanta magazine. The Five Star award goes to wealth managers who satisfy 10 objective eligibility and evaluation criteria associated with wealth managers who provide quality service to their clients. Approximately 23% of the 2,660 award candidates in the Atlanta area were named 2012 Five Star Wealth Managers. This distinction marks the fifth year he has been named to the list.

As a renowned professor in finance, Dr. Henssler was tapped by Atlanta talk radio to host “Money Talks,” an investment advice radio show. The show has aired for more than 25 years and has developed a large following. Dr. Henssler also appears as a featured guest on the major network affiliate TV stations in Atlanta and Georgia Public Television as well as nationally on CNN, CNBC, Bloomberg Television and Fox News. A former columnist for the Atlanta Business Chronicle, Dr. Henssler has written numerous articles for newspapers, magazines and professional journals dealing with a wide variety of financial topics. Dr. Henssler is also a registered representative of ALPS Distributors, Inc.

Theodore L. Parrish, CFA
Principal and Director of Investments

Theodore L. Parrish, CFA is the Director of Investments at G.W. Henssler & Associates, Ltd. and Henssler Asset Management, LLC with responsibilities of managing all research and trading activities of the firm. He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, majoring in Finance, from Kennesaw State University. He holds the Series 7 and Series 66 registrations and is a CFA charterholder. Mr. Parrish is a member of the Atlanta Society of Financial Analysts and a member of the National Association of Securities Professionals (NASP). Mr. Parrish is a registered representative of ALPS.

Mr. Parrish was named to Georgia Trend’s “40 Under 40” list for 2009 that represents 40 high-achieving Georgians under the age of 40 who are influencing the state’s future in business, government, education, the arts and charitable organizations. He was selected from 165 nominated candidates from around the state who are helping shape Georgia’s future through their business and community involvement.

Roger C. Tutterow, Ph.D.
Chief Economic Adviser

Roger C. Tutterow, Ph.D., serves as the Chief Economic Adviser to Henssler Financial. Dr. Tutterow is also a Professor of Economics at Mercer University where he previously served as Dean of the Stetson School of Business. His analysis of the economic, business and political environments have been featured in a variety of media including Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, USA Today, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Arizona Republic, Florida Times-Union, Kansas City Star, Los Angeles Times, New York Times, Orlando Sentinel, Palm Beach Post and on CNN, CNBC, NBC, NPR’s “Marketplace” and “All Things Considered,” CNN Radio, Bloomberg Radio as well as regional electronic and print media.
 
In addition to his work in academia, Dr. Tutterow serves as a consultant specializing in the application of quantitative analysis to economic, financial and business problems. He has provided expert testimony on economic, financial and statistical matters in state and federal court. Dr. Tutterow has given hundreds of speeches to professional and civic groups on various topics in the economic, business and political environment.
 
Dr. Tutterow has been selected as a “Notable Georgian” by Georgia Trend magazine, and recognized as one of “Georgia’s Most Influential” by James magazine. In 2010, Dr. Tutterow was selected by the Georgia General Assembly to serve on the Commission for Tax Reform and Fairness, a blue-ribbon panel to review Georgia’s tax structure. Dr. Tutterow also served as Chairman of Governor Sonny Perdue’s Council of Economic Advisors and as a commissioner on the Georgia Child Support Commission. He has served in various business and civic leadership roles including the Board of Directors for Vinings Bank, the Board of Trustees at Berry College, the Board of Directors for Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Atlanta, The Board of Directors for the American Red Cross Southeastern Blood Services and the Board of Governors for the Vinings Club.
 
A Georgia native, Dr. Tutterow holds a Bachelor of Science in Decision Science from Berry College and a Masters and Doctorate in Economics from Georgia State University. He has previously held faculty and administrative appointments at West Virginia University, Georgia State University and Kennesaw State University. He has also served as a visiting professor at the University of the West Indies in Trinidad and at the Institute for Industrial Policy Studies in Seoul, South Korea.

Troy Harmon, CFA
Senior Research Analyst

Troy Harmon joined the firm in May 2006. As the Senior Research Analyst, he extensively researches the stocks and bonds purchased for client needs. He is most familiar with the Financial, Industrial, and Energy sectors. Mr. Harmon is part of the Henssler Portfolio Committee that oversees the Henssler Traditional Model portfolio as well as the Henssler Income portfolios. He also serves as one of the Portfolio Managers for the Henssler Small & Mid Cap portfolio. Mr. Harmon has co-hosted “Money Talks,” the firm’s financial talk-radio show, and has provided expert opinions in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution on equity holdings. Mr. Harmon has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Kennesaw State University, graduating summa cum laude. He is a CFA charterholder and Bloomberg certified.

Mark Bendinelli, CFA
Research Analyst

Mark Bendinelli, CFA, has been with Henssler Financial since August 2007. As a Research Analyst, he is most familiar with the Healthcare, Consumer Discretionary and Information Technology sectors. Mr. Bendinelli is part of the Henssler Portfolio Committee that oversees the Henssler Traditional Model portfolio as well as the Henssler Income portfolios. He also serves as one of the Portfolio Managers for the Henssler Small & Mid Cap portfolio. He has appeared as a host on “Money Talks,” the firm's financial talk-radio show and assists the firm extensively in media preparation. Mr. Bendinelli has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Kennesaw State University graduating magna cum laude. He is a CFA charterholder and Bloomberg certified.

Nick Antonucci
Junior Research Analyst

Nick Antonucci joined the firm in November 2009 as an intern, and accepted a full-time position as a Junior Research Analyst in November 2010. Mr. Antonucci is part of the Henssler Portfolio Committee that oversees the Henssler Traditional Model portfolio as well as the Henssler Income portfolios. He also assists with the purchase and sale of client fixed-income securities. He analyzes market rates and various fixed-income securities, and assists with reviewing fixed-income holdings. Mr. Antonucci earned a Bachelor of Business Administration, with a major in Finance from Kennesaw State University. He is Bloomberg certified.
